Happy Easter. It is here, Easter time (holiday?), a time for getting together and eating lots of eggs or chocolate eggs … just because you want to party or because you celebrate the Christian main event: Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday): The Last Supper and preceding foot washing.
Good Friday: Crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.
First day of Easter: The resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter is a moveable fest as it is not fixed to the civil calender; the date of Easter is the first Sunday after the full moon following the March equinox … This means the date of Easter varies from year to year from 22 March to 25 April (wikipedia).
The popular Easter colours of yellow of green come from traditions before the Easter became a Christian feast:
Yellow comes from the the sun (and Eostre, an Anglo-Saxon goddess) and
Green comes from the celebration of Nature and growth (ABC Nyheter, Norge).
You, too, can feast with yellow and green during Easter:
Easter dining; eat healthy organic eggs with lots of greens.
Easter exercise; get out, get some fresh air and do some outdoor fitness exercise.
Happy Easter!
